Had a day off, today. 3 day weekend, and then it's back to the short day/short week grind at work when the tourists dry up. Hopefully, with the personnel losses we had over the holidays (some people are moving on for various reasons) my hours will go up from the 20hrs/week I was getting before the holiday rush.
Played in the snow today with Progeny. We had a good time sledding until she shifted wrong and made a rut that headed directly for a tree stump. I had to shut it down at that point ("Awww, daddy, maybe we could do... " "Progeny, we are going inside. Daddy is done." [heavy sigh] "Yes, Sir...")
Propane got delivered today, so we can warm the house and keep the hot water hot. Hot showers always improve one's outlook.
And, since I'm now out of the military, I've decided to grow a beard. It'll keep my face warm. Real men grow their own scarves.
